I'm getting mixed signals! Does he like me?

There's this guy that I have had a crush on for the longest time. We have been hanging out a lot lately and having a lot of fun! However I am getting mixed signals. According to a few of his friends he likes me but I'm not sure. He hasn't made a move yet. But I'm told that's cause he's shy? Whenever we hang he also pays, opens the car door, etc. But he is also just a gentleman like that. We usually text everyday but the past few days we haven't. It's driving me crazy not knowing if he likes me or not. Do you think he does? Also, I'm someone who likes to hear it straight from the source. So what is a way I could ask him without making it awkward?
