Why is regular prayer life necessary part of maintaining a reverence for God's name?

It's necessary for our own vibrant existence as Christians in service to God. God is the power source for the holy spirit that flows through us to do his will. Without being connected to God ( which is what prayer and bible reading are accomplishing ) We can not do this.
