Supposing God isn't real; what possible advantage would a person gain from the reverence Jesus Christ?

One would have a perfectly legitimate set of moral standards i.e. not killing, loving one another etc if you take the teachings of Jesus himself from the Gospels, not from the Old Testament or the Epistles you will come across a very wise and inspiring man, even if you don't believe in his Divinity.
